| Synopsis | The laws in this booklet have now replaced those in the Laws of the Sport of Bowls - Third Edition (blue book). The new booklet has attracted some criticism because of the small size of type used, resulting in a reduction in the number of pages from 48 (blue book) to 30 in the new one. Many of the amendments are minor, reflecting the changes from World Bowls Ltd to the World Indoor Bowls Council (WIBC), the inclusion of
‘Member National Bowling Authorities’ and changes to ‘law reference numbers'. The penultimate page of the book shows variations that have been requested by and granted to member nations of the WIBC. Only England have requested and been granted such variations - hence the addition of the words 'English version' to the title on the English Indoor Bowling Association website.
Full details of the changes are provided here*. The new booklet is available from the English Indoor Bowling Association; the laws are not available online. *This document is in portable document file (PDF) format and requires installation of the free Adobe Reader program.
